Andrew McConnell has won the World Press Photo, the most important award for photojournalism for which are awarded annually to his work 'The Last Colony'. This project was conducted in the Saharawi refugee camps and in occupied Western Sahara. The winning entry in the category of portraits was made possible by the scholarship each year awarded to Medecins du Monde Award-winning International Humanitarian Photography Luis Valtueña.
